Trial & Visits

How much is a trial?

Normally ¥2,200 (incl. tax) , but currently thanks to a campaign, the trial fee + enrollment fee are ¥0 to take part (until the end of June 2026).

How long does a trial take?

You join an actual class as-is. Class length is 90–120 minutes .

Even beginners are supported by an instructor from start to finish, so please don’t worry.

How do I book a trial?

You can book anytime, 24 hours a day, via our online booking system (hacomono).

What should I bring on the day of the trial?

Please come in easy-to-move clothing (T-shirt, sweats, shorts, etc.). No gi is needed for the trial.

What to bring:
• A towel
• Drinks (tea, water, etc.)
• A change of clothes for children (they will sweat)

Training is done barefoot in the dojo. We’ll guide you separately on preparing a gi after you join.

Do I need a gi?

Not for the trial. Easy-to-move clothing such as a T-shirt or sweats is fine. After joining, you can buy a gi whenever convenient.

Can I just observe?

Yes — observation is free, anytime, with no booking required. That said, actually joining a trial gives you ten times the feel of the place compared with just watching.During the campaign the trial is free, too , so please do consider booking a trial .

Can parents watch?

Yes, guardians are free to watch. Photos are fine too (please avoid capturing other children).

How many trials can I take?

One in principle. However, if you’re interested in multiple classes (e.g., karate and kickboxing) or want to see the feel of another branch, please ask us.

How much is the enrollment fee?

The enrollment fee is ¥11,000 (incl. tax) .Free for students, junior-high and high-school students .

Thanks to the current campaign,the trial fee (normally ¥2,200) + enrollment fee are ¥0 so you can start (until the end of June 2026).

What are the payment methods?

Payment is by credit card or direct bank debit via the membership system (hacomono). Monthly fees are auto-debited each month.

Is there a sibling/family discount?

The sibling/family discount is no longer offered to members who join from April 2026 onward (families already receiving it continue). Please check the Pricing page for the latest fee structure.

Classes & Eligibility

From what age can I join?

The kids class is open to ages 4 through elementary school.

Junior-high students can join both the kids class and the junior-high-to-adult class (both) .

High-school age and above are in the junior-high-to-adult class (full-time membership, etc.).

Which class do junior-high students join?

Junior-high students both the kids class and the junior-high-to-adult class can join.

The kids class is a mixed class where elementary and junior-high students train together. In the junior-high-to-adult class you can receive more serious technical instruction.

They can join either class according to their wishes and growth, andthe enrollment fee is free .

Is there kids kickboxing?

Yes,kids kickboxing classes are held.

The fee is ¥5,500/month (incl. tax), once a week, 90 minutes, no enrollment fee. Recommended for energetic children who love to move.

If you enroll in kids karate (¥8,800), you can also join the kickboxing and gymnastics classes at no extra charge.

What is the kids gymnastics class?

A class for mat exercises and building basic fitness and motor skills.

Once a week, 90 minutes. It builds a child’s “capable body,” which also forms the foundation for karate and kickboxing movement. If you enroll in the kids karate plan (¥8,800), you can join at no extra charge.

Can adult women attend?

Of course. Many women members in their 30s–50s attend. We also have menus customized by goal — diet, exercise, self-defense and more.

There is no women-only class, but changing rooms are separated by gender.

Is it OK if I have no experience?

Over 80% of our members started with no experience . We teach step by step from the basics, so please be assured.

“Try it once first, and if it’s not for you, you don’t have to continue” is Seikukai’s stance.

What are personal lessons?

One-on-one private instruction led by representative Tanaka and instructor Koike. It covers karate, kickboxing and fitness, with flexible scheduling for busy people.

The fee is Personal Free: ¥32,000/month (incl. tax). Customized by goal — diet, exercise, self-defense, competition preparation and more.

Location & Access

Where are the branches?

Seikukai operates three branches:

Ikeda branch (headquarters dojo)
Kawanishi branch (Midoridai area)
Takarazuka branch

Can I attend other branches?

Yes, members can attend any of the three branches. Use whichever suits your child’s drop-off arrangements or your own schedule.

Branch members (Kawanishi/Takarazuka) can also join the Ikeda headquarters class on Saturdays.

Is there parking?

There is no dedicated parking. If you come by car, please use nearby coin parking.

Pausing, Quitting & Make-up Classes

Can I make up a missed day?

Yes,No make-up booking is needed . You can freely attend other classes to make up missed sessions (free make-up).

You’re welcome to just come on the day itself.

Can I pause my membership?

Yes, there is a pause system. For long absences due to work, injury, exams, etc., please apply via the hacomono form .

How do I cancel my membership?

the hacomono form You can cancel from there. We will not contact you to talk you out of it, so please use the service with peace of mind.

Other

I’m worried about injuries. What about safety?

The kids class pays special attention to safety, with appropriate protective gear worn during sparring. Multiple instructors always keep watch. We also carry sports insurance in case of injury.

Do I have to compete?

No — competing is entirely optional. Many attend for health and exercise, and everyone, including the competition-minded, can train at their own pace.

Are grading exams mandatory?

No, they’re not mandatory. You can take them at your own pace. Grading exams are held several times a year, and participation is optional.

About photography and posting on social media

We sometimes photograph everyday training and post it on Instagram, our blog, etc. If you’d rather not have your face shown, please let us know in advance and we’ll accommodate you.
